Founded in 1976, University of Phoenix is the largest University in North America catering specifically to the needs of working students. The university has over 190 campuses and learning centres, currently serving over 330,000 students the world over.

The Vancouver Campus and Fraser Valley Learning Centre offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Programs are delivered using flexible scheduling and adult learning geared toward working students. Students may choose to attend classes’ on-campus one evening per week or choose to attend classes via FlexNet, a modality that combines on-campus and online learning. Students attending via FlexNet are required to attend the first and last classes of each course on-campus, while interacting with their instructor and their peers online for classes in between.

The University of Phoenix is a teaching/learning institution that places a heavy emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, research, and oral presentation skills.  Students are at the centre of the institution’s focus as they prepare to become productive leaders of their communities and organizations.

FACILITY/SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Among many services tailored to the “busy-with-life” student, are an online library, online writing and mathematics labs, and extended student services hours (till 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday).  The university’s library is available 24/7 with powerful search engines to search over 2,500 books, 100,000 periodicals and professional journals, over 250,000 dissertations, and millions of articles.  The Centre for Writing Excellence allows students to submit assignments 24/7 for automated feedback or for personal review by a faculty tutor.
