- 2008 Admissions and Transfer Experiences of Students Continuing their Post-Secondary Studies in British Columbia
-
- Produced: by BC Stats, Feb 2009
- Document Information: PDF, 81 Pages download
- Show Summary
This study profiles the admission and transfer experiences of almost 6,800 students who continued their studies in BC's public post-secondary system after having participated in either an Arts and Science or an Applied program in a community college, university college, or institute. It also includes a very limited analysis of the admission experiences of students who did not continue their studies. The report is based on input received from students through the 2008 Diploma, Associate Degree, and Certificate Student Outcomes - DACSO - Survey (formerly the BC College and Institute Student Outcomes Survey) and includes comparisons with findings from the 2002 and 2005 surveys. Comparisons of findings with previous survey years should be made with caution due to mixed mode (telephone and web) survey methodology being used for the first time in 2008. In addition, beginning in 2006, baccalaureate graduates were no longer included in the survey. This has increased the respondent pool to include proportionately more Applied versus Arts and Sciences students.
